Leslie Derene Lennox is a multifaceted creative whose work spans fashion, food, fiber arts, and photography. Based in East Hampton, New York, she is the founder of Leslie Lennox Designs, where she creates vibrant, one-of-a-kind crocheted garments and accessories inspired by artists such as Matisse, Georgia O’Keeffe, and David Hockney. Her designs feature sustainable materials and an eye for bold color and texture.

Leslie began her career in the fashion world, working alongside Vera Wang and serving as an assistant editor at Vogue Magazine. She later moved into freelance fashion and set styling in both New York and California, contributing to editorial and commercial projects. Her visual creativity extends to photography, with her work displayed in Fendi’s Fifth Avenue windows and various art galleries.

In 2007, Leslie co-founded Hope’s Gardens, an artisanal pesto company born out of a flourishing backyard garden in Atlanta. What began as a local venture expanded to national recognition, with their pesto sold at Whole Foods and served on Delta Airlines international flights. Her cookbook, Pesto: The Modern Mother Sauce, published in 2019, offers over 90 recipes showcasing pesto as a foundation for creative cooking.

Soon, Leslie will be part of the upcoming The Gathering Marketplace and Cafe in East Hampton, where she’ll have her own shop alongside her daughter, Hope Lennox’s jewelry. The space will feature her full collection of crocheted clothing, hats, bags, rugs, and accessories—a vibrant extension of her modern, artistic style.
